Maine School of Masonry

ABOUT US

Stphen Mitchell, instructor.

THE FOUNDER

This school is a dream come true for its founder and head instructor, Stephen D. Mitchell, "Mitch", a Masonry graduate of Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, class of '73.

When Mitch's apprenticeship ended, he excitedly started his own business. This masonry contracting business did well, but he felt that something was missing.

While in the Midwest, in 1980, he accepted a major position as a masonry instructor at a center for young men. This was the missing link. Mitch's teaching skills blossomed and it became a passion for him.

Teaching at private, public and secondary schools has been a stepping stone in creating his school of masonry.

These days he can be found teaching masonry in area schools. He admits he loves going out with his bag of tools to teach, but there is nothing like teaching at home...at the Maine School of Masonry.
