ONE YEAR MASON APPRENTICE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The one-year Mason Apprentice Certificate program is designed for the student to develop skills and knowledge in the brick, block and stone masonry fields; trades that provide employment today as it did in the days of the pyramids.
The student will develop skills through lab projects, classroom instruction and community involvement projects. Apply online!
REQUIRED COURSES
*Courses run daily 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mon thru Friday

Bricklaying I: Construction safety, tools and equipment, brick manufacturing, mortar, bonds, 4" wall construction, estimating, cleaning. |

Blocklaying: 4', 8" and 12" wall construction, block manufacturing, glass blocks, retaining walls, estimating.
(Nov. 27/28, Dec. 24/25 & Jan 1–No Classes) |

Bricklaying II: Piers. arches, chimneys, fireplaces, 8" wall construction, paving, business management. Prerequisite: Bricklaying I or bricklaying experience. |

Stone Masonry: Dry and wet lay, paving, retaining walls. |
ADMISSIONS
Students must be 18 years of age or older with solid basic skills in reading, writing and math. Small class sizes for individualized attention: for the certificate program we only accept 12 students per year. Apply online!
LIVING HERE
We're expanding! Beginning Fall 2008, up to 8 students enrolled in the full-time certificate program may live on-campus, fee schedule can be found below. View photos of our bunkhouse.
